Shuyin Tang, Partner, Patamar Capital
Shuyin is a Partner at Patamar Capital, a venture capital firm that targets risk commensurate returns for its investors while also seeking to unlock better economic opportunities for Asia's low income communities. Shuyin is responsible for Patamar's investing activities in the Mekong region and the Philippines and has led investments into education, FinTech, employee benefits and healthcare companies.
She has experience spanning strategy consulting (Bain & Company), development consulting (TechnoServe) and impact investing (Patamar Capital, LGT Venture Philanthropy), across Australia, India and Southeast Asia. She has also worked in U.S. Congress and the Australian public service, as well as at The Lowy Institute for International Policy and UNICEF.
Shuyin was named one of Australia's "100 Women of Influence" by the Australian Financial Review in 2015 and an Asia 21 Young Leader by the Asia Society in 2016. She currently serves on the Southeast Asia Advisory Council of Women’s World Banking, a global NGO promoting women’s financial inclusion. She graduated summa cum laude from the Australian National University where she was also awarded the University Medal.
Evelyn Nguyen, CEO, co-founder of Canal Circle
Evelyn obtained her undergraduate degree from MIT, then started her career working under various roles within the investment banking, investment management, and hedge fund industries. Her passion is always at the intersection of finance and technology and the great potential of technology to be an economic and social equalizer. With that passion, Evelyn founded Canal Circle, a startup that aims to empower as well as leverage microfinance to provide life-improving products and services to the underserved population throughout Vietnam.

Irene Ohler founder of LightPath Leadership, is passionate about leadership development and women’s empowerment. Irene has more than 20 years of international experience in HR development, having worked with Fortune 500 corporates and governments in Europe, China, Brazil, New Zealand and Vietnam as an executive coach and consultant. Her mission is to ignite leadership and support organisations to nurture talent, through executive coaching and delivery of programs designed especially for female executives.
Since her arrival in Vietnam in 2012 Irene has become a sought-after expert in Vietnam for her work to promote women leadership. She is the co-author of a best-selling book on Vietnamese women leaders, BaTrieu’s 21st Century Daughters. Stories of Remarkable Vietnamese Women. She also curates the unique live event series, the the Women’s Storytelling Salon in Hanoi and HCMC.
Since 2014 Irene has organised almost 30 Women's Storytelling Salons in Hanoi, HCMC as well as tailored events for Flinders University's Women's Leadership Development programmes.
