Nguyen Thi Hai Lien is currently a lecturer in Health Management at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine cum officer at the Quality Control Department, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Ho Chi Minh City.

During the 4th wave of Covid19 in the Southern region of Vietnam, Hai Lien held the role of Head of Quality Management – ​​Infection Control Department at Field Hospital No.6, the largest field hospital with more than 5,500 beds.

At the same time, Hai Lien was also in charge of running the Tracing Team of 22 districts supporting the District Health Centers in tracing F0/F1.

She is a founding member of the Executive Board of the Network of Doctors who accompanied more than 10,000 doctors and volunteers doing online consulting for more than 400,000 positive cases as well as supporting emergency hospitalizations of more than 2700 patients at level 3,4 (i.e. severe cases). The network also established a team to care for and support F0 at home, to provide medical exams, medicine, and oxygen for over 5000 F0 since the beginning of August.

Hai Lien is not only a strong and determined woman but has a lot of love for patients. She has been considered "the lungs"(i.e., an important part) of the department with her high work performance every day. Her contributions are invaluable as she has helped many severe cases to be treated in time.

  • of the "Support white-blouse soldiers" health support program with Long Thọ Foundation 

  • Team member of PNJ Covid19 Committee and leader of PNJ PUN (Phản ứng nhanh - PNJ 24/7 team) in helping PNJ staff and family in both welfare and health support.

Since 2014 Irene has organised almost 30 Women's Storytelling Salons in Hanoi, HCMC as well as tailored events for Flinders University's Women's Leadership Development programmes.
